Allies Associates Appointed to Architects panel for Cornwall Eco town.

Developer EcoBos have selected Allies Associates for their wider panel of Architects for this exciting project which will provide over 6,000 new homes. The principles developed for Allies Associates Pioneer house types have been developed and adapted to the exacting brief for open market eco homes, see image above.


River Way Appeal successful


A Planning Appeal for residential development in a sensitive leafy residential area was presented at Appeal Hearing by Tony Allies RIBA

Dealing with issues including, Backland development, trees and flooding. The Inspector found the propsals to be acceptable and granted Planning consent.

Anglia Hotel, Poole Road, Bournemouth.


Major Planning Application Approved unanimously by Committee and praised by Bournemouth Planning Committee Chairman. 

The Quality of Design and Presentation of Allies Associates revised proposals for this site were praised by the Chairman of the Planning Committee who said he hoped the building would go ahead despite the current economic climate. The 64 apartment proposals for this prominent site which has a long history of Planning refusals were approved at the Bournemouth Planning Committee. The Main Poole Road elevation comprises two symmetrical mansion blocks, each with roofs rising like wings either side of a central feature. The two blocks are linked and visually separated by a 4 storey glazed wall. Despite the lightness and elegance of these proposals more accommodation is provided than in the last refused application.




Allies Associates develop New Low Energy "lifetime" Housing System. 

Allies Associates apply their extensive housing experience to Housing Projects. Tony Allies experience with Berkeley Homes (managing the residential and master Planning at Gunwharf Quays) and working for National Developers in the role of Architect and Design Director has been used in the development of these propsals for Eco Developer"Southern Eco Housing Limited".

Using local materials and high mass elements within a highly insulated structure this is an extremely flexible cradle to cradle design concept within a high volume shell. Sites in the South of England and the West Country are being developed with these unique house types which can achieve the highest codes of sustainability whilst being suitable for self build projects. Schemes include, winter optimised solar collection, no concrete construction techniques, local materials, green roads, electric car charging from locally generated solar electricity.


Rock Cornwall.

Planning Granted for Two Contemporary Luxury Houses in Rock, Cornwall.

Allies Associates have achieved detailed planning permission for two luxury houses in Rock, Cornwall via a delegated decision. The two 3500 sq ft houses feature cinema rooms, traditional fire places, open plan living with views across the rural countryside. Allies were instructed by New Forest developer, Almansa Construction Ltd earlier this year and are currently working together on a number of different projects.

Christchurch Dorset.

Allies Associates Sustainable Proposals for Sports Pavillion to generate running costs from integrated Wind Turbine.
Energy consultants Worldwise Limited have predicted, the wind turbine will genetrate a surplus of circa £3,000 per annum at current electricity prices whilst saving over 75 Tons of co2 over the life time of the Project. The ground source heat pump run from electricity generated by the turbine is predicted to save a further 40 Tons of co2 over a comparable gas fired system.
Waterman's Park Pavilion and Changing Rooms.

Working with the Community Sustainable Energy Programme and the Low Carbon Buildings Programme, Allies Associates proposals for the Waterman's Park Pavilion  were presented to the Duke of Wessex when he visited Christchurch and to the local community at an informal public consultation. The final design, inspired by skateboarding and featuring a 6KW wind turbine has received enthusiastic support from all quarters of the community including  the Police, Planners and most importantly the local youth who have given the project their unanimous support.
